The H.L. Spurlock Power Plant Bridge is a seven span, 700-foot long crossing Lawrence Creek and Kentucky State Route 8 west of Maysville, Kentucky. Originally constructed as a railroad bridge in 1977 that carried ash to a landfill, the span was converted into a truck span in 1997.(1) The project required the removal of existing rails, ballast and walkway down to the plate girder beams, and the installation of new structural elements, concrete decking and gravel roadway.
