North Fork Kentucky River Bridge (Robinson Road)

The North Fork Kentucky River Bridge carried Robinson Road over the North Fork Kentucky River in Quicksand, Breathitt County, Kentucky. The Parker through truss, Pratt pony truss and girder span was constructed in the early 1900’s.1 2

On November 29, 2011, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Department of Highways held a public meeting on the proposed replacement of the Robinson Road bridge.1 The new span would be 350-feet long with two 10-foot travel lanes and 4-foot shoulders. It would be be constructed downstream of the existing bridge. Right-of-way and utility relocation began in fall of 2012 and construction started in summer of 2013.1
