Edgett Street Bridge

Edgett Street Bridge is a pedestrian-only crossing on Edgett Street over the Erie Canal in Newark, New York.

The contract to construct the Edgett Street Bridge was let on October 17, 1913 to I. M. Ludington’s Sons of Rochester, New York. 1 The work was reported as being nearly complete as of October 1, 1914. H. N. Metzger, Assistant Engineer, was in charge of construction.

The crossing was closed prior to 1975 to automobiles. 2
