Rommels Mill Bridge

Rommels Mill Bridge carries Benedict Road over Clear Fork Mohican River in Richland County, Ohio.

The bridge is located adjacent to the ruins of Rummel Mill, constructed in 1853. 1 The first crossing of Clear Fork was a covered bridge that was destroyed in a large flood in 1913. It was replaced with a Warren through truss.

In mid-2005, Rommels Mill Bridge was dismantled and relocated to the Ohio Bridge Corporation yard where the steel members were either restored or replaced. 2 The bridge was galvanized. In May 2006, the US Bridge Company of Cambridge re-erected the bridge over Clear Fork.
