The bridge has recently been inspected and the allowable weight has been reduced from 15 tons to 3 tons. The vertical support leg structure on the south wall of the NYS Erie Canal lock (lock #27) shows an angle of + 3 degrees. The structure shows significant signs of deterioration due to rust created by road debris passing through the opening metal decking.
