Schrader Railroad Bridge

Schrader Railroad Bridge

The Schrader Railroad Bridge, a five-span through truss bridge, carries CSX over the Scioto River near Chillicothe, Ohio.

The Marietta & Cincinnati Railroad constructed a bridge over the Scioto River southeast of Chillicothe circa 1857. Some of the largest storms on record at the time caused the bridge to collapse in March 1913, and Marietta & Cincinnati’s successor, the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, built a new five-span Warren through truss structure in its place.
