The Rockford Bridge is a Parker through truss structure spanning the East Fork White River along Indiana Route 11 in Jackson County, Indiana.
In 1939, the Indiana Department of Highways introduced a new 200-foot Parker through truss design to accommodate wider decks without altering the standard 198-foot model. 1 The updated design featured nine panels instead of eleven, increasing individual panel width from 18 to over 22 feet and using heavier structural members. It also incorporated a standardized concrete substructure.
Completed in 1940, the bridge underwent several modifications: its portal was replaced in 1947, the concrete deck in 1969, and sections of the stringers and deck again in 1971. 1
