Wheeling Suspension Bridge Aerials

Posted on September 18, 2020 by Sherman Cahal

The heavens opened up and the rain poured down during my travels through West Virginia, but the sun was shining as I took these aerial and on-the-ground photos of the Wheeling Suspension Bridge, which carries the National Road over the Ohio River between Wheeling Island and downtown Wheeling, West Virginia. It was the first bridge to span the Ohio River and the largest suspension bridge in the world from 1849 until 1851.

Very cool. Always good to see something familiar in an unfamiliar way.
