Cheat Bridge carries CR 250/4 over Shavers Fork of the Cheat River in Cheat Bridge, West Virginia.
A pinned Pratt through truss over the Shavers Fork of the Cheat River at Cheat Bridge was constructed by the Canton Bridge Company of Canton, Ohio in 1912. 1 It was located along the Staunton & Parkersburg Pike, a historic highway from Staunton, Virginia west to Parkersburg, West Virginia. The highway later became US Route 250.
A new alignment around White Top Mountain, including a new two-lane pony truss bridge over Shavers Fork, was completed in 1934. The old bridge was maintained to access strip mines in the vicinity and for local access between Cabin Fork Road and a remnant of the original Staunton & Parkersburg Pike alignment.
