Kutz's Mill Covered Bridge

Kutz’s Mill Covered Bridge

The Kutz’s Mill Covered Bridge, a covered Burr arch truss, carries Kutz Mill Road over Sacony Creek in Berks County, Pennsylvania.

A stone gristmill was constructed by the Jacob Kutz family on their farm along Sacony Creek shortly before 1854. 1 Owned by successive generations of the Kutz family, the complex was noted as being the Kutz Mill on maps from 1854, as the James Kutz Grist and Saw Mill in 1862, and as the Charles Kutz Grist and Saw Mill in 1876.

Adjacent to the Kutz Mill was a Burr arch covered bridge, constructed by Bittner and Ahrens in 1854. 1
