Bridges at Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky

Years ago, I made the journey to photograph the old Eggner’s Ferry Bridge and old Lake Barkley Bridge in western Kentucky. This was immediately after a ship had struck the main span of Eggner’s Ferry Bridge causing it to collapse. The span was quickly rebuilt but ultimately, the two bridges were replaced with steel arch crossings (Eggner’s Ferry Bridge and Lake Barkley Bridge) as part of a larger effort to widen US Route 68 and KY Route 80 to four lanes across the southern tier of the Commonwealth.
