Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapses

At 1:27 am on March 26, 2024, the main span of the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed following a collision with a pier by the Singapore-flagged container ship Dali. It’s impossible to put to words the scope of the tragedy, the lives lost, and the impact the loss of this bridge will have on the region.

The Francis Scott Key Bridge carries Interstate 695 over the Patapsco River and Baltimore Harbor in Baltimore and Baltimore County, Maryland. It is the longest bridge in the Baltimore metropolitan area.
