The Post Mill Bridges are two abandoned spans along County Route 13 (Hall Road) over the Buckhannon River in Upshur County, West Virginia.
Both bridges are pin-connected Pratt through trusses built by the Canton Bridge Company of Canton, Ohio. 1 The northern span was constructed in 1896, while the southern span followed in 1902. To increase deck capacity, the end tension rods were later strengthened, and the wooden roadway deck was paved with asphalt.
A preservation report recommended that the older of the two trusses be retained for recreational use, including fishing and picnicking, while the newer bridge could be dismantled and its components stockpiled for future use. 1 Both bridges, however, were originally slated for removal after replacement girder bridges were built in 1981; neither was demolished.
